Surroundings
The friendly town of Berkel en Rodenrijs is surrounded by green but is also centrally located in the Randstad. Cities such as Rotterdam, The Hague, Zoetermeer and Delft are easily and quickly accessible. The Gouden Uilbuurt has a unique location, directly bordering the Groenblauwe Slinger nature reserve. Elements of this wetland area are reflected in the neighbourhood and support the atmosphere evoked by the traditional Dutch architecture and the small-scale layout. The neighbourhood is just a few minutes away from the old village centre of Berkel en Rodenrijs. However, you do not need to leave the area for daily shopping. The RandstadRail station on the edge of the neighbouring Gouden Griffelbuurt has a shopping centre with basic amenities.

Complex
In the Gouden Uilbuurt, owner-occupied houses, social rental houses and private sector rental houses have been built alternately. There are several small-scale apartment complexes, of which the Bouman and Dortsman complexes are the largest. These complexes house comfortable flats with spacious living rooms and open-plan kitchens. The flats also have modern bathrooms, with or without bath, and a separate toilet room. The 30 flats in the social rental sector are predominantly 2- and 3-bedroom flats with a surface area ranging from 60m2 to 88m2. The 23 flats in the freehold sector are mainly 3-bedroom flats with an area ranging from 87m2 to 120m2.
