In summer, cooled water is piped into the ground to cool down to around 18 degrees and refresh the house on its return. The heat given off is stored in the ground and used to heat the building in winter. The heat and cold energy is generated using a heat pump. High-efficiency glazing provides insulation, keeping heat in and cold out.
