Surroundings
Hoge Weide is located on the east side of Leidsche Rijn, within cycling distance of Utrecht city centre. It is also within walking distance of the future Leidsche Rijn Centre: plenty of shops, a theatre and cinema. Hoge Weide has its own primary school, childcare and a care centre. Within five minutes you walk to the station, which puts the Netherlands at your feet. A special feature is the green valley with old trees and watercourses that runs right through the neighbourhood. It is surrounded by wide green strips, several parks, a playground and the monumental De Hoef farm. The valley creates height differences in the neighbourhood, giving it a very individual, playful atmosphere. Hof van Holland is a square. Laying the generous back gardens of the houses towards each other creates a courtyard where it is pleasant to park. The courtyard also provides a nice safe base for children to walk or cycle over spacious pavements from their gardens to the play street and meadows.
The complex
The architecture is sustainable and robustly modern. Differentiation in the facades, both in colour, fenestration and detailing, softens the hard lines.
