Each sub-area can be reached via one of the sixteen (numbered) roundabouts. By bike, you can easily get from one side of the neighbourhood to the other via one of the many cycle paths. The old thoroughfares (Heideweg, Veenweg and Duisterweg) provide attractive cycle routes.

More and more Vathorst residents are discovering the convenience and speed of the train. Vathorst station is part of the Zwolle–Utrecht and Vathorst–Utrecht–Amsterdam sprinter lines. This means Vathorst lives up to its image as a ‘smart network hub’: both the Randstad and the ‘outlying areas’ are easily accessible. By investing in a good rail link, Vathorst has taken the lead in ‘The New Way of Working’, which is mobile in nature and well facilitated on trains.

Vathorst Shopping Centre is the beating heart of Vathorst. It’s great for shopping in the well-known major retail chains, but also in the specialist boutiques and specialist food shops. Every Friday from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm, there is late-night shopping. Elsewhere in the neighbourhood, you’ll also find small gift shops and service providers such as hairdressers.
