FRIENDS accommodation is subject to special allocation requirements in accordance with agreements with the Municipality of Amsterdam:
You may only live here if you are NOT in a long-term relationship (married or in a registered partnership). You may, however, live here with a colleague or friend.
What is the income requirement for a ‘Friends’ flat? A ‘Friends’ flat can only be rented with two incomes. For example, if you wish to rent a ‘Friends’ flat costing €1,800, each ‘friend’ must individually meet the income requirement for a rent of €900. This amounts to a minimum of €3,600 gross per month.
This is an income guideline. Personal assets may also be taken into account up to 10 per cent.
What happens if my ‘friend’ wants to leave the property? If one of the ‘friends’ leaves, you must find another ‘new friend’ who can be added to the tenancy agreement.
That’s what flexible living is all about! During the first year, it is not possible to transfer the contract (or have it transferred); after the first year, a name change on the contract may take place up to twice a year.

Although Noord itself has plenty to offer, it’s also nice to know that you’re just a stone’s throw from the heart of Amsterdam. The ferry will take you to Central Station in no time, or you can walk through the station and find yourself instantly in a whole different world – a city that’s alive 24/7 and never gets boring. There’s always a great exhibition, a fun event, a special performance, a concert or a surprising market. Residents of B’mine can enjoy these whenever they like. And afterwards, it’s back home, leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind.
