* For a single income:
• Your gross annual income must be 45 times the basic monthly rent, where the rent exceeds €1,600. In practical terms, this calculation applies if your gross annual income is €72,000 or higher.

* For two incomes
• Where there are two incomes, the gross annual incomes of both partners are added together to determine the joint assessed income. The assessment is then based on the ratio between the two partners’ incomes within this joint assessed income.
• You may count both incomes in full, provided that one of you earns at least 70 per cent of your total combined calculated income. The ratio is then 70/30 or higher (for example, 80/20).
