Hof van Spartaan in Amsterdam Nieuw West

The ‘Hof van Spartaan’ project, developed by BPD, is situated in the new ‘Laan van Spartaan’ neighbourhood, a young, vibrant residential area in the lively Bos en Lommer district, just outside the A10 ring road. The heart of the neighbourhood consists of sports facilities such as football pitches, a climbing centre and a sports hall. Hof van Spartaan comprises the East and West sections. The East section was designed by KOW, whilst the West section was designed by Studioninedots.

Hof van Spartaan was designed around the concept of natural. urban. living. We aim to enhance city life with architecture that feels like second nature. Executed with modern craftsmanship in the much-appreciated brick architecture featuring Amsterdam School characteristics.

Green courtyard above car park
Hof van Spartaan East and West are built around a green courtyard above a semi-underground car park with 134 parking spaces. The roof garden comprises a private and a public section, separated by a difference in level and planters with hedges. The communal area features meeting places with picnic sets and large planters containing trees.

Sustainable and comfortable
Hof van Spartaan is sustainable and comfortable. The project is gas-free and ‘all-electric’, featuring CO₂-controlled, balanced ventilation with heat recovery, low-temperature underfloor heating and hot water supplied via the Amsterdam district heating network. PV panels provide 33 per cent of the building’s electricity.

Modern 66 m² flat in a new residential area in Amsterdam-West with a 21st-century, urban and sporty character. Laan van Spartaan is situated just outside the A10 ring road and therefore close to Amsterdam’s bustling city centre.
You can do your daily shopping at Bos en Lommerplein, which is within a 5-minute cycle ride. Or, heading in the other direction, you can visit the Plein 40-45 shopping centre, where you’ll find supermarkets and many other shops.
For sport, recreation and relaxation, the nearby Erasmuspark and Rembrandtpark are ideal; by bike, you can be in the Jordaan or right in the middle of Dam Square within 15 minutes.

Accessibility:
The Jan van Galenstraat metro station is within walking distance. Here, you can catch metro line 50 towards Gein or the Isolatorweg. In addition, two trams (13 and 14) and a bus (line 80) run to and from De Spartaan.
Laan van Spartaan is bordered on two sides by a canal. You can access the ‘island’ on the south side via Jan van Galenstraat. On foot or by bike, the neighbourhood is also accessible from the north via one of the two bridges over the Erasmusgracht.
