Just imagine: living right in the heart of Apeldoorn, by the water, in a place steeped in history. The city lies right in the heart of the Veluwe, where you can cycle and wander to your heart’s content. You can cut through the woods, walk across heathland and past little ponds. And something you might not immediately associate with the Veluwe: there’s also plenty of water. Kitesurfers and other water sports enthusiasts can have a brilliant time at the Randmeren.

The Vlijtsekade

Along the canal, the area’s bustling past is still visible, even though ships have been replaced by lorries and factories have been given a new purpose. Take, for example, the former Zwitsal site, where bottles of baby shampoo used to roll off the production line. This is now a cultural meeting place, where the site’s industrial character blends with the creativity of entrepreneurs.
De Vlijtsekade is designed to be car-free, so you’ll need to park in the courtyards. In fact, the quay is intended solely for cyclists and pedestrians. The easiest way to reach the new-build development by car is via the Vlijtseweg. If you’re coming into the city from Amersfoort or Deventer via the N344, you’ll be at your home in under 10 minutes.

As a (future) resident of Apeldoorn, you’ll naturally want to visit the lively city centre. If you walk, it takes about 10 minutes. By bike, it takes just half that time. There’s a lovely cycle route along the Apeldoorn Canal, heading towards the city centre or towards ‘t Sluisje, which connects the east and west sides of the canal.

The homes
In De Vlijt, these nine homes at Dukdalf 21 to 37 in Apeldoorn, each with a floor area of 76m², were completed in mid-2022.

The homes have two storeys, with two bedrooms on the first floor. The bathroom has a shower and washbasin. On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room and a kitchen fully equipped with a recirculating extractor hood, induction hob and dishwasher. As a tenant, you are responsible for installing a fridge-freezer and an oven or combination microwave, if required. Underfloor heating is fitted on the ground floor.

Each property has its own north-facing back garden with a storage shed. The parking spaces are situated on a site at the rear of the property. It is compulsory to rent a parking space (numbered). The cost is €55.83 per month.

The properties are let on the social housing market, meaning that housing benefit may be available subject to the conditions set by the government.
