Oegstgeest is one of the oldest villages in Holland. The history of Oegstgeest is closely linked to the history of its church and its castles, along with their inhabitants. Oegstgeest is a village characterised mainly by low-rise buildings and plenty of green spaces. Oegstgeest’s location within the Randstad is extremely convenient. It is close to the sea, with the seaside resorts of Katwijk and Noordwijk nearby, whilst the Kagerplassen are also not far away. An attractive, architect-designed bungalow with its own jetty on the Oegstgeest Canal, directly connected to the Kagerplassen and Leiden city centre.
