’s-Hertogenbosch, also known as Den Bosch, is the provincial capital of North Brabant. Maaspoort
is also a neighbourhood and district within the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The neighbourhood lies to the north of the A59 motorway and some distance from the city centre. The district comprises 11 neighbourhoods. Construction of the neighbourhood began in 1977. Maaspoort is characterised by a variety of architectural styles, in both low-rise and high-rise buildings; examples include the unique, nationally renowned ‘spherical houses’. Local amenities are adequate: primary and secondary schools, a shopping centre due for a major refurbishment in 2022–2023, sports facilities and leisure amenities (such as the Noorderplas!).

There are two housing types: housing type 570 (with a width of 5.7 metres) and housing type 600 (with a width of 6 metres). Some Type 600 homes have a garage.
On the ground floor, the homes are largely similar in layout. You enter via the entrance hall, where the toilet and staircase are located. The Z-shaped living room has a semi-open-plan kitchen fitted with built-in appliances. Sliding glass doors lead out into the back garden. The storage room, which is accessible from both the kitchen and the garden, is particularly handy. The storage room houses the connections for the washing machine and tumble dryer.

On the first floor, there are three bedrooms. Property type 570 has a shower room (with a washbasin and a second toilet). Property type 600 has a bath or shower, two washbasins and a second toilet.
On the second floor, there is a fourth room, with a dormer window and a storage area. Property type 600 also features an additional shower room (with a washbasin).

The properties were upgraded to meet sustainability standards in 2022 and are fitted with solar panels, amongst other features.
